Port of Roenne

The port of Roenne is the commercial harbor for Bornholm and offers all the facilities required to serve the sea-borne trade, including ferries, cruise ships or ships carrying cargo to and from Bornholm.

An expansion of the harbor, which is expected to be finished by October 2019 and the Port is thereby executing on the strategy of making Roenne Port more flexible and able to receive large units by extending the quays, enlarge the storage areas and enhance the drafts.

The port is easily accessible. Pilot service is available and advisable at least at first call but not compulsory. Deepest guaranteed depth is 9 m and the longest quay is 240m. It’s the only port in the world with 4 ISO certifications (DNV GL)

Ferries from four different destinations is today served from the Port of Roenne; Ystad in Sweden, Køge in Denmark, Sassnitz in Germany and Swinoujscie in Poland. In addition, the Port's customers include small and medium-sized transport ships, which are characterized by many calls for loading and unloading small cargo loads.

The Port of Roenne is also very active as a cruise port and the expansion is preparing the port for the expected growth in larger ships and increased numbers of tourists in the years to come. The cruise industry has opened it eyes to the possibilities the Bornholm can offer, which makes it very attractive destination.

In addition to traditional port operations, the Port of Roenne also comprises a commercial area that has attracted a number of businesses with links to the maritime and offshore industries as well as an array of other types of non-maritime businesses, which simply enjoy the vibrant business environment at the Port. The Port of Roenne is a catalyst for growth in Roenne and works as a business magnet and growth engine for Bornholm with its more than 3200 calls per year.
